I have had my hexa for two days now. So far I am very happy with the product, but I wanted to address issues I have had so far:
-
Hexa never powers down. When the shutdown routine is done, the power light stays green and on, I just can’t connect to it. I do not like the idea of the hexa transmitting data, or anything without me doing it. When I shut it down, it should be shut down.
-
Camera is hit-or-miss. It turns on most of the time, but sometimes it will not connect.
-
The charger port is on the bottom. That is just really poor design, it should be on the side, not underneath.
-
If I raise the hexa’s gait to make it “tall”, then try to make it walk in any direction, the system crashes and I have to restart the robot.
-
I followed the instructions in the Using the HEXA Simulator, and noticed, that there are no instructions for importing the new move to the robot. I have exported the vsm file, but I don’t know how to get the move on the robot to use
I will try to add more issues I find. I do like this robot quite a bit though. The mind SDK is very easy to work with and I am having a great time learning how to control the robot.

Hexa reboots quite frequently. This is usually when I perform tasks in explore mode. For example, have hexa raise up then walk. It reboots. If I Go into cave mode in explore then walk it may reboot. If I perform climbing the stairs it reboots. I guess I will have to look at the logs or something.
I am getting disconnects from Internet and LAN. It usually just disconnects and then reconnects, but this is not what is supposed to happen. The connection should be reliable. Also, it connects through the internet, not WLAN. Why is this occurring. I am on the same WLAN.
Can’t export new moves from simulator to HEXA. I get the vsm file, but how to get it on the robot to use
