The range of remote control

Dear vincross,

I’d like to purchase one of the MIND KIT Special Bundles (not Hexa) but I was wondering about the range of the remote control. If I place the robot in my home in California, could I control it when I am on a business trip in Asia via internet?
(Or if your hardware and mind OS support the implementation)

If you were to VPN into your home network and be on the same IP it might work. I had some issues across networks and I never got a fix resolution; just keep the devices on the same network (MIND docker container is the same).

I have two WiFi APs that are on different IP subnets. They both connect to a router that routes traffic between them. When the remote was on Wifi-A and the Hexa on WiFi-B I wasn’t able to control it, nor communicate with it via the SDK container. Although I haven’t updated my firmware/app in awhile. Maybe you’ll have better luck than I did.

I see, sounds a meaningful dev works to achieve “could control” functionality as telepresence robot did.
